The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Talib Hussain, 119th Lord Mayor of the City of Sheffield

I was recently honoured to be asked to take the official photograph for Sheffield's Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, Talib Hussain and Yasmin Saddiq.

The photo was taken in the Lord Mayor's parlour in the style of previous photos.  It was taken on a Nikon D800 with a 24-70mm lens.  I used two Nikon SB-900 flashguns in an umbrella reflector as a fill to the natural daylight that was lighting the room (low autumn sunshine) but had to be mindful not to put too much by way of highlight on the reflective wooden panels behind.

Apart from welcoming visitors to the main reception of the Town Hall, a copy of the Lord Mayor was converted to black and white and will be printed and framed to join the other photos of previous Lord Mayors in his ante-room.

Sheffield Stars of the Commonwealth Games treated to a Civic Reception

Some of the many sporting stars from or who train in Sheffield and who were at this year's Commonwealth Games were invited to a Civic Reception today.

Held in the grand setting of the Mayor's Parlour, the Lord Mayor, Peter Rippon congratulated them on being part of the most successful England team ever.
