Good news for the GreatCity Games in Manchester

Some fab news for next Saturday....my accreditation has come through to photograph the GreatCity Games in Manchester!

Been watching rather than shooting athletics for the last couple of months so it'll be good to try to get some photos of KJT as her great year continues, and perhaps something of Jess Ennis on her comeback....

Jessica Ennis selfies

Nice to see Jess Ennis out at the EIS Sheffield on Sunday watching the young GB team competing at the Combined Event.  She looked very radiant with no sign yet of a bump...and gave everyone plenty of time for chats and snaps.

As soon as she appeared trackside a host of Spanish and then French athletes mobbed her for selfies and then persuaded Toni Minichiello to take group photographs.  It was very flavoursome of the great atmosphere at the event.

More photos from the event are at: Andy Chubb Photography

Louise Hazel considering Commonwealth Games comeback

Heptathlete Louise Hazel has confirmed she is considering making a comeback for this year's Commonwealth Games.  Hazel said in September that she was retiring, but described Jessica Ennis-Hill's announcement of her pregnancy as a "game changer".  The 28-year-old current Commonwealth champion said "the temptation is there" to defend her title in Glasgow later this year.  "My body is still in good shape. It's definitely something I'm not ruling out."

Jessica Ennis-Hill announced last Friday that she was expecting her first child and would miss the Glasgow Games in late July.  Louise Hazel, who won gold in Delhi in 2010, will consider a welcome return over the coming weeks.

Jessica Ennis, a new reason to smile

Congratulations to Jessica and Andy Ennis-Hill on the announcement of their happy news that Jess is pregnant.

Bit of a disappointment for all those athletics fans who were hoping to see her compete this year, especially at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer.  All the best, and look forward to see you trackside again soon.
