The University of Sheffield triumphed at the 10k event in this years Varsity match.
Starting and finishing at the Arts Tower (Don Valley Stadium already very much missed!), there was a good turn out in fairy decent weather and a competitive field.

Sheffield Saints U13 Basketball marches into the National Quarter Finals
Sheffield Saints U13s held on in a very tight game to finally edge out Cheshire Wire 65-63 in the first round of the National Playoffs. Saints were 6 points up at half-time but Cheshire fought back to level it with 6:39 to go and from then on it was nip and tuck all the way.
Next up is a trip to Worthing or London in the last 8.

A new window on Andy Chubb Photography
The folks at Sheffield Showcase have kindly taken some of my photos and made up a 'sporty' window in Cambridge Street in Sheffield. I supplied them with over 50 A3 size prints and 5 A3 canvases - they used them to provide a backdrop to a mannequin draped in medals and union flag:
The Sheffield Showcase project is a visual merchandising scheme run by The Source in conjunction with Sheffield City Council.
The Sheffield Showcase brings together creative talent, retailers and apprentices to animate the Sevenstone development site. The project creates an outdoor gallery in the City Centre to help maintain/boost footfall, creating a better environment for customers visiting businesses still operating in the area, as well as providing opportunities for future Sheffield retail talent who will drive the success of the New Retail Quarter in years to come. Katarina Johnson-Thompson wins silver in the long jump at the World Indoor Athletics in Sopot
Katarina Johnson-Thompson won her first major medal with silver in the long jump at the World Indoor Championships. The Liverpudlian led after the second round with a
personal best of 6.81m, but she was pipped to gold by France's Eloyse
Lesueur who leapt out to 6.85m.
This eclipsed her previous best of 6.75m, set at the recent UK Indoor Championships and bodes well for a great season for her following on from her great performances in the high jump and hurdles as well this year.

Liam Pitchford retains his Senior Men's Single crown at the English Table Tennis Championships
Liam Pitchford (Chesterfield, club - TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen) retained his Senior Men's Single crown at the English Table Tennis Championships in Sheffield this weekend.
In a busy afternoon where he had to fight past Andrew Baggaley in the semi-finals, he then partnered Paul Drinkhall to victory in the Men's Doubles against Andrew Baggaley and Darius Knight.
The final against Paul Drinkhall swayed both ways until Liam came out victorius to the delight of his family, friends and coach.
